24 hour loan items can now be reserved in the same way as other library items by selecting 'Reserve Item' from the library catalogue.  These items once collected for you will remain available for collection for one day in the Reading Room before being re-shelved.

24 hour loan items in our High Demand Collection (HDC) are clearly labelled as 24 Hour Loan, denoted with orange stickers. Fines for 24 Hour Loan items are charged at £1 per hour or part hour.

Renewals

To renew 24 Hour Loan items you have to bring the Library back to the Library.  These items are not renewable online or over the telephone. When returning a 24 hour loan item, if you need to borrow it again please ask if it may be checked out again. Staff will then re-issue the item if it is available to borrow. You will need your Student /Staff Card to take out the item again.
