Conversations are not considered recoverable data and some academics will not accept them as evidence within your written work. If you are going to reference a conversation, you should record it and provide a transcript as an appendix and cite the appendix and line number in your in-text citations. If this is not possible, check with your tutor/supervisor to see if non-recorded conversations are usable.
