Thank you for your enquiry.
We are unsure whether by order you mean to order items for the Library which are not already in stock or if you are enquiring regarding reserving (hold) items or just if items can be requested from the library shelves for you to pick up.
We will therefore advise on each of these situations:
1. If you are a student you may suggest an item for purchase to add to the library stock by using the Suggest a Purchase procedure http://www.libsurveys.com/loader.php?id=735090f31ce8d7f478305653b0ec0df2
Academic staff suggesting a purchase use a different system and need to submit a request via the eBRF (electronic book request form) which they can find on the Portal under “library services”. This form is then sent electronically to their departmental library representative for authorisation.
2. To place a reservation/hold on an item other than a 24 hour loan please follow the instructions on the library web page. Go to http://www2.hull.ac.uk/lli/library-services/books/reserve-an-item.aspx You can reserve a maximum of four items at any one time but only one reservation per item.
For 24 hour loan items you need to place an advance booking (reservation). You may book Brynmor Jones Library 24 hour loan items for a specific date and time so that you can plan your work in advance. You may have 4 bookings at any one time, but only one booking per item. To book a 24 hour loan item in advance you need to go to http://www2.hull.ac.uk/lli/library-services/books/24-hour-loans.aspx and follow the on screen instructions.
3. We do not routinely collect items from the Library shelves for pickup by students unless there has been a special arrangement made, usually through the Disability Services.
